Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain two hard copies of A4 (JIS) size being two divisions of an A3 (JIS) size picture without distortion by dividing a picture data at a posi tion in excess of 1/2 between the read start and the end position, and reading the data from a memory. CONSTITUTION:An original of A3 size stored in a page memory 16 is divided into two, and in copying one part A of the divisions, the data corresponding to a range B1 with some margin in addition to the data corresponding from th end A0 to the center line C of the original of A3 size is read from the mem ory 16 and printed out by a printer 17. On the other hand, in copying the other part B, the data in the range from a position A1 with some margin toward the position A from the center line C till the end B0 of the part B is read from the memory 16, and printed out by the printer 17. The two hard copies AA, BB obtained in such a way cover the A4 size but the formed pictures have an overlapped part as shown in hatched lines. In copying one A3 size original into two A4 size originals in such a way, no missing is caused in the resulting picture and no distortion is produced.
