Abstract

PURPOSE:To readily subject unripe fruits to post maturing even through the hands of general consumer or end user and completely ripen the fruits, by arranging a ripening gas generating source for diffusing ripening gas in a case for housing the fruits. CONSTITUTION:A ripening gas generating gas source 3 for diffusing the ripening gas such as ethylene gas is arranged in a case 1 consisting of a transparent plastic sheet for housing fruits. For examples, a porous body (e.g. zeolite) adsorbed by the ripening gas is used as the ripening gas generated source and the ripening gas is diffused from the porous body by heating the porous body with a heater 4, etc. As a result, unripe fruits can be readily subjected to post- maturing even through the hands such as general consumer or end user to completely ripen the fruits.
