Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an acrylic copolymer being capable of crosslinking at room temp. or under heating to thereby give an elastomer having excellent characteristics, by polymerizing monomers wherein (meth)acrylates are the main components in the presence of a specific radical polymn. initiator and an org. silicon compd. CONSTITUTION:This crosslinkable copolymer can be obtd. by polymerizing component (a) in the presence of components (b) and (c). The component (a) is 100pts.wt. monomers wherein (meth)acrylates of formula I (wherein R<1> is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R<2> is 1-14C alkyl group or a silyl-substd. alkyl group) are the main components. The component (b) is 0.01-10pts.wt. radical polymn. initiators of formula II. The component (c) is 0-10pts.wt. org. silicon compd. having a group of formula III and a group of formula IV or a chlorine-substd. alkyl group in the molecule at the same time.
