Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a metallic powder having a metallic gloss and a freely adjustable color, comprising a laminate of a metallic layer with a diamond film or a diamond carbon film. CONSTITUTION:A metallic powder comprises a laminate of a metallic layer and a diamond film or a diamond carbon film. This laminate can be obtained by metallizing a base, forming a diamond film or a diamond carbon film on the metallized layer by bringing said metallic layer into contact with a gas obtained by activating a gas feed containing a carbon source gas, and recovering a laminate comprising said metallized layer and said diamond film or said diamond carbon film from said base. According to this process, a metallic powder having a metallic gloss and an interference color and a freely adjustable color can be obtained in a simple manner.
