Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition giving a coating film excellent in weathering resistance and well-balanced properties such as corrosion resistance and flexibility, comprising a reaction product of a specified amino group- containing modified epoxy resin with a partially blocked polyisocyanate compound. CONSTITUTION:The title composition comprises a reaction product of an amino group-containing modified epoxy resin (A) prepared by adding a polyphenol compound [e.g., bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2,2-propane] and an amino compound (e.g., dimethylbenzylamine) to an adduct of a hydroxylated resin of an epoxy equivalent of 200-400 (e.g., bisphenol A polyglycidyl ether) with a cyclic ester compound of the formula (wherein R is H or CH3, and n is 3-6), e.g., epsilon- caprolactone, with a partially blocked polyisocyanate compound (B) of a degree of blocking of 20-80% (e.g., hexamethylene diisocyanate). The title composition gives a coating film excellent in weathering resistance and well-balanced properties such as corrosion resistance and flexibility.
