Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an adhesive excellent in biocompatibility and adhesiveness and useful for surgical operation, by mixing human fibrinogen with silk fibroin. CONSTITUTION:Silk fibroin (B) which has optionally been freed from sericin and treated with an enzyme is dissolved in 2-50pts.wt., per pt.wt. (B), 5-80wt.% aqueous solution of an alkali (alkaline earth) metal salt, and said metal salt is removed from the solution with a dialyzer in which a dialyzing membrane or a hollow fiber is used. A salt is optionally added to the dialyzate to obtain an aqueous solution of component B. Human fibrinogen (A) is dissolved in distilled water at 32-35 deg.C, and the resulting solution is mixed with an aqueous component B solution containing 5-90wt.%, preferably, 20-70wt.%, based on the mixture of components A and B, component B.
