Abstract

PURPOSE:To aim at lowering nozzle, at reducing a manipulating force and at flattening an instrument panel by arranging a flexible film member adapted to be moved by a manipulating means in such a condition that the flexible film member faces blow-off ports, and by moving this flexible film member to selectively open and close the blow-off ports. CONSTITUTION:An endless film damper 20 made of polyethylene group resin is disposed in a casing 11, and can be moved by gears 42, 43 which are rotated by manipulation of a selector lever through a drive plate 53, a pinion 52 and a shaft 37 and which mesh with apertures 41. Openings 28 through 30 are formed in the film damper 20, the widthwise opening lengths thereof being set to be equal respectively to the widthwise lengths of blow-off ports 12 through 14, and the circumferential lengths of the openings 28, 30 being set to be 1.5 times as long as the circumferential length of a vent blow-off port 13 while the circumferential length of the opening 27 is set to be substantially one-half of the circumferential length of a heater blow-off port 14. With this arrangement, it is possible to lower noise, to open and close the blow-off ports by a small manipulating force and to flatten the device.
