Abstract

PURPOSE:To acquire a coil that has practical strength, efficient cooling property and higher superconductivity than an alloy superconducting coil and can be minimized due to high winding density, by winding a wire rod of ceramic superconducting material on each of a plurality of spools of different diameters and arranging them concentrically to make an integral structure. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic superconducting coil 1 has an integral structure with fixed frames 6a and 6b by winding the wire rods 4 and 5 of ceramic superconducting material in single-layer winding to spools 2 and 3 respectively. By use of spools in this way, it is possible to form a coil shape easily by winding the softened wire rods of ceramics superconducting material on the spools. Moreover, after hardened, the fragile ceramics superconducting material is protected by the spools providing a desired structual strength.
