Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the rising time of heat by forming a heat generating resistance body layer on the surface of a roller base material, forming a 'Teflon(R)' on its surface, and providing electrodes on both sides of the heat generating resistance body layer. CONSTITUTION:The heat generating resistance body layer 2 is formed on the surface of the roller base material 1 made of a material with inferior heat conductivity, e.g. synthetic resin of phenolic resin, the electrodes 3 are provided on both sides of the roller base material 1, and the 'Teflon(R)' layer 4 is provided which forms an insulating layer covering this heat generating resistance body layer 2. Namely, the heat generating resistance body layer 2 is formed over the entire surface of the roller base material 1 made of a low heat conductor. Consequently, the entire surface is heated at the same time to shorten the rising time extremely and a temperature distribution which is relatively uniform to the overall length is obtained.
