Abstract
PURPOSE: To directly output a read picture signal to a printer by setting an address so that an effective image area of a picture signal to be stored in a picture memory is stored in a specific address of the picture memory.
CONSTITUTION: The picture signal corresponding to one line in the main scanning direction which is read by an CCD image sensor 8 driven by an image reading part 35 is successively outputted to a reduction picture generating part 38 in picture element units. The generating part 38 successively samples the picture signal, which is inputted in picture element units, by a reduction clock signal generated by a reduction clock generating part 37 to obtain a reduction picture signal. The storage start address of the picture signal is calculated by a CPU 31 in consideration of the original size, the reduction rate, and the print form size so that the start of the effective picture area is stored in a specific address of a picture memory 40. The picture signal is stored in the memory 40 on the basis of this address. The picture signal stored in the memory 40 is read out and is supplied to a printer.
