Abstract

PURPOSE:To make chromatic reproductivity better and enhance the indication quality by using as red and green a light emission from a zinc sulfide fluorescent substance layer with specific ions as impurities for emission of light, and by using as blue a light emission from a strontium sulfide fluorescent substance layer with specific ion as the impurity for emission of light. CONSTITUTION:High frequency sputtering is made with TbF -containing ZnS sintering as target on No. 1 insulating substance layer 3, to form a fluorescent substance film consisting of ZnS:Tb, F. Then a striped fluorescent substance layer 4 for green is formed by the use of photo-lithography technique. Thereover a fluorescent substance film consisting of AnS:Mn is formed by means of electron beam heating vacuum evaporation method, and a striped fluorescent substance layer 5 for red is formed by the use of photo-lithography technique. Thereover another fluorescent substance film consisting of SrS:Ce, F is formed by means of electron beam heating vacuum evaporation method, and a striped fluorescent substance layer 6 for blue is formed by the use of photo-lithography technique. Light is emitted from these fluorescent substance layers and allowed to penetrate a transparent base board 9, to accomplish display of a color image.
