Abstract

PURPOSE:To use a phantom equivalent to a human body, by forming an examinee shape container having the size corresponding to the whole or each organ of an examinee and filling the same with a content phantom equal to or approximate to each region of the examinee in magnetic field relaxing times and dielectric constants in longitudinal and horizontal directions. CONSTITUTION:An examinee shape container 1 is formed so as to have the size corresponding to the whole or each organ of a human body and separated into a whole body shape 2 and each region shape 3 and prepared from rubber or synthetic resin. Each region of the container is filled with a content phantom material equal to or approximate to each region of an examinee in parameters such as magnetic field relaxing times in longitudinal and horizontal directions, a dielectric constant or the like. For example, a composition prepared by compounding a saline solution with polyvinyl alcohol is allowed to fill the container of each region shape corresponding to the liver or kidney and the container corresponding to the lungs is formed into a cavity to be substantially filled with air as a content phantom material. By the above mentioned constitution, this phantom can be used in the simulation of the examinee of an MRI apparatus.
