Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the sheet thickness accuracy by detecting variations in sheet thickness by a thickness gage, calculating a roll gap variation is by use of the equation, and controlling a sheet thickness by changing a drafting amount. CONSTITUTION:Roll eccentric components are found based on load variances DELTAPLC detected by a load cell 8 and sheet thickness variances DELTAhX detected by a sheet thickness gage 12 finding thicknesses of a sheet stock 2 to be rolled. Then, a roll gap variation DELTASZ is calculated by the equation and a drafting device 10 is operated to change a drafting amount of a rolling mill to cancel the amount DELTASZ and to perform sheet thickness control. Hence, the sheet thickness accuracy is improved. In the equation, DELTAhE is thickness variation caused by roll eccentricity, DELTASE is roll gap variation caused by roll eccentricity, DELTAPE is rolling load variation caused by roll eccentricity, and M is mill constant.
