Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a hot rolled steel sheet which has excellent surface characteristics without having intergranular cracks by completing the transformation of a slab contg. specific ratios of C, Si and Mn after finish rolling before coiling, then coiling the steel sheet at a specific temp. CONSTITUTION:The slab contg., by weight %, 0.25-1.5% C, 0.10-0.35% Si and 0.30-1.00% Mn and consisting of the balance iron and unavoidable impurities is hot rolled and is cooled with water. The transformation thereof from austenite to pearlite is then completed from the finish rolling before the coiling and the steel sheet is coiled in a 630-450 deg.C range, more preferably at 600-450 deg.C. The hot rolled steel sheet which is free from the intergranular cracks occurring in grain boundary oxidation and has the excellent surface characteristics is thereby obtd.
