Abstract
PURPOSE:To secure sufficient lubricity by maintaining the porosity of a bearing part, and around a crank pin, for supporting the crank pin at about 10-20%. CONSTITUTION:Material should be about 99.15% of steel powder of grain size 100 meshes to which about 0.85% of graphite powder is added, and then zinc stearate as a lubricant is added thereto for mixing together by about 0.8% of the compound. This material is charged in a press powder forming mould, pressurized therein, and discharged before it is placed in a sintering furnace. At a preheating stage hereat, the lubricant in pressed powder is decomposed and vaporized by use of the atmospheric gas of decomposed ammonia before the material is subject to heating at 1,300 deg.C for about 60min. The density of a bearing part 6 is allowed to be smaller than that of other parts and its porosity is maintained at about 10-20%, by use of a connecting rod C obtained through this sintering process.
