Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to decrease the pitching motion of a hull by providing a horizontal rudder for decreasing the pitching motion of the hull in the submerged section of he hull so as to allow the rudder to produce a force reverse to that by the pitching motion. CONSTITUTION:A compressor, a fan or the like installed in a hull 1 compulsorily charges air into a cushion chamber 5 so as to support the hull 1 such that the lower surface of the hulls located with a predetermined space from the water surface. Further, a movable horizontal rudder 7 is moved up and down by means of a drive rod 10 connected to a drive source disposed n the hull 1 so as to produce upward and rearward forces in a strut section 6 due to fluid flowing therearound together with a stationary horizontal rudder 8. Further, a longitudinal rudder 9 is similarly moved right and left at its rear end by means of a drive device coupled to the drive source so as to produce right and left lateral forces in the strut section 6 or in the lower end part of a side wall 2. Thus, it is possible to control the steering angle so that the pitching moment about the gravitational center of the hull in accordance with a lift produced at the rudder overcomes a compulsory pitching moment by waves.
