Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve operability by moving forward and backward the outer end part of a second plate of a stopper member so as to enable the fixation and release of a wheel. CONSTITUTION:In the state wherein stopper members 4 are extended, a vehicle to be tested is made to get on a running tester and the front wheels thereof are set on rollers, while the rear wheels Wb are set on a support plate 3 adjusted for its position in the forward or backward direction. Next, the members 4 are put in a contracted state. Thereby first plates 4a of the members 4 are made to contact with the rear wheels Wb from the front and back thereof, and the rear wheels Wb are held between the members 4 and fixed at a prescribed position. On the occasion, spacers 14 having a prescribed thickness are fitted beforehand on the first plates 4a in accordance with the diameter of a tire so that the first plates 4a be in close contact with the rear wheels Wb through the intermediary of the spacers 14.
