Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of noise caused by scattering components of exciting light by providing scattered component shielding members inhibiting the incidence of the scattered components of exciting light on an imaging plate (IP).
CONSTITUTION: The scattered component shielding members 35A and 35B are provided on the tips of stimulating light detecting means 21A and 21B. Said members 35A and 35B inhibit the incidence of the scattered components of stimulating light on the IP3, and they are disposed at prescribed intervals (nearly the same as the width of stimulating light) so that stimulating light (direct light) radiated by a stimulating light irradiating means 20 cannot be shielded. Therefore said components are shielded by said members 35A and 35B, and are never radiated on the surface of the IP3. Thus the occurrence of noise on a read image can be suppressed.
