Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the display quality of liquid crystal by sampling an analog signal by a sample holding circuit with a clock signal, holding it by a signal holding circuit up to a next cycle, and inverting the polarity by a polarity inverting circuit. CONSTITUTION: Liquid crystal cells are turned on by gate lines G and data lines D by sequential voltage application from a scanning electrode driving circuit 42 and a data electrode driving circuit 41. The analog signal inputted to the sample holding circuit 1 in the circuit 41 is sampled with the clock signal and charged in a capacitor 12 by the data lines, its output is inputted to the signal holding circuit 2 and held by a voltage follower part 32B up to a next half cycle independently of the clock signal, and the polarity inverting circuit 3 inverts the polarity for only the half cycle period through the switching of a switch 31 and outputs the signal to the liquid crystal. Therefore, a voltage for gradational display corresponding to the analog voltage can be applied to the liquid crystal connected to each data line for the one-cycle period of the clock signal for a long time to improve the display quality of the liquid crystal.
