Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an odorless or low-odor agricultural chemical emulsion having high viscosity and emulsion stability to prevent the precipitation of crystals or suppress the crystallization over a long period in the preparation of a solid agricultural chemical emulsion, by compounding a specific compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective agricultural chemical emulsion is produced by compounding a compound having 2-5 aromatic rings and expressed by formula (R1 is 1-4C alkyl or H; R2 is 1-3C alkenyl; R3 is 1-3C alkyl or H; m and n are 0-2; p is 1-4) (e.g. phenylxylylethane, tolylxylylethane or dibenzyltoluene) in an amount of e.g. 10-40% in the emulsion in the preparation of an emulsion using an agricultural chemical which is solid at 0 deg.C or normal temperature. The compound of formula has desirable properties such as xylene-like dissolving power, molecular weight of as high as 180-520, low partition ratio to aqueous layer, high viscosity, resistance to crystallization even at -5--10 deg.C and an ignition point of about 140 deg.C.
