NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I [R<1> is lower alkyl or lower alkoxy; R<2> is lower alkyl, aryl or aralkyl; R<3> is di- lower alkylamino; Alk is lower alkylene; R<4> is H, halogen, OH or lower alkyl or lower alkoxy; n is 1 or 2; with the proviso that R<4> is not H when R<2> is lower alkyl) or an acid addition salt thereof. EXAMPLE:(+ or -)-cis-2-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-3-(phenoxycarbonyl)oxy-5-[2-(dimethylami no)ethyl]2,3-dihydro-1,5-benzothiazepin-4(5H)-one.
