Claims (3)
- 촉매가 리튬, 칼륨, 루비듐, 마그네슘, 칼슘, 바륨, 란탄, 세륨, 프라세오디뮴, 네오디뮴, 사마륨, 철, 코발트 및 니켈 중에서 선택된 하나 이상의 비금속(base metal; 卑金屬)을 귀금속 총 질량의 5배까지의 양으로 함유하며, 조촉매 함유 담체를 백금 화합물 및/또는 팔라듐 화합물의 용액(A)으로 백금 및/또는 팔라듐 총 질량의 30% 이상에 상응하는 양으로 함침시키고 건조시켜 활성화시킨 다음, 하나 이상의 비금속 화합물과 함께 로듐 화합물 및 임의로 백금 및/또는 팔라듐 화합물의 잔여분을 함유하는 용액(B)으로 함침시켜 다시 건조시키고 활성화시킴으로써 촉매를 제조할 수 있음을 특징으로 하는, 임의로 다른 희토류 금속 산화물과의 혼합물로서 3 내지 70중량%의 CeO2및 0 내지 20중량%의 La2O3, 및 1 내지 20중량%의 ZrO2, 0 내지 10중량%의 Fe2O3및 0 내지 20중량%의 NiO를 조촉매로서 함유하는 전이 계열의 산화알루미늄을 담체로서 함유하며, 담체에 백금 및/또는 팔라듐 및 로듐 0.02 내지 3중량%의 활성 상(이때, 백금 및/또는 팔라듐 대 로듐의 중량비는 1:2 내지 15:1, 바람직하게는 1:1 내지 3:1이며, 임의로 백금 대 팔라듐의 중량비는 10:1 내지 1:5이다)이 피복되며, 촉매는 불활성 담체의 중량을 기준으로 하여 5 내지 30중량%의 양으로 세라믹 또는 금속의 불활성 담체에 피복물 형태로 존재하는, 격자 안정화될 수 있는 담체를 조촉매 화합물의 용액으로 함침시키고/시키거나 담체를 조촉매 성분의 산화물, 수산화물 또는 탄산염의 현탁액과 혼합시켜 라이닝(lining)하고, 촉매를 300 내지 900℃의 공기 속에서 처리한 다음, 귀금속 화합물의 용액으로 함침 및 건조시키고, 250 내지 1,050℃의 온도에서, 임의로는 열수 조건하에, 수소 함유 가스 속에서 임의로 활성화시킴으로써 제조되는, 내연기관의 배기 가스 정제용 촉매.
- 제1항에 있어서, 불활성 담체 코어를 갖는 벌집형 촉매 또는 괴상 재료 쉘(bulk material shell) 촉매에 있어서, 조촉매를 함유하는 산화알루미늄 담체 총 질량의 30 내지 100%가 용액(A)의 피복 전에 피복물로서 침착되며, 산화알루미늄 담체 총 질량의 0 내지 70%가 용액(B)의 피복 전에 피복물로서 침착되고, 담체가 부분적으로 침착되는 경우, 조촉매는 담체 물질의 일부에서 농도가 상이하며, 용액(B)의 피복 전에 침착된 물질의 일부는, 바람직하게는 침착된 물질의 나머지 부분보다 사용된 조촉매의 농도가, 사용된 농도 범위 내에서 더 낮음을 특징으로 하는 촉매.
- 제2항에 있어서, 조촉매 CeO2가 용액(A)의 피복 전에 수용성 화합물 형태로 담체 물질 속에 도입되고, 이러한 조촉매가 산화물, 수산화물 또는 탄산염의 현탁액과 혼합되어 용액(B)의 피복 전에 담체 물질 속에 도입됨을 특징으로 하는 촉매.
