Abstract
Description
Claims (10)
- 투사형 표시 장치의 광 변조 수단을 조명하기 위해 이용되는 조명 장치에 있어서,광원; 및상기 광원의 광량을 영상 정보와 이용 정보에 기반해서 조절하는 조광 수단(調光手段)(light control means)을 포함하는 조명 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 조광 수단은상기 광원의 광량을 영상 정보에 기반해서 설정하는 광량 설정 수단; 및감광이 허용되는 감광 범위를 이용 정보에 기반해서 설정하는 감광 범위 설정 수단을 포함하고,상기 조광 수단은 설정된 광량에 기반해서 상기 광원의 광량을 조절하는 것과 함께, 상기 감광 범위를 초과하는 감광을 금지하는조명 장치.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 설정된 광량에서의 감광량이 상기 감광 범위를 초과하는 경우에는, 상기 광원은 상기 감광 범위 내의 감광량에 의해 그 광량이 조절되는조명 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 이용 정보는 수동으로 지정가능하게 되는조명 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,투사 영상의 시청 환경의 밝기를 검출하는 밝기 검출 수단을 포함하고,상기 감광 범위 설정 수단은 시청 환경의 밝기에 기반해서 상기 감광 범위를 설정하는조명 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,투사 영상이 표시되는 스크린의 이득을 검출하는 이득 검출 수단을 포함하고,상기 감광 범위 설정 수단은 상기 이득에 기반해서 상기 감광 범위를 설정하는조명 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제6항 중 어느 한 항에 기재된 조명 장치;상기 조명 장치로부터 사출되는 빛을 변조해서 영상광을 형성하는 광 변조 수단; 및상기 영상광을 투사하는 투사 수단을 포함하는 투사형 표시 장치.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 광원의 감광량에 기반해서 상기 영상 신호를 신장하는 영상 신호 신장 수단(image-signal expanding means)을 포함하는 투사형 표시 장치.
- 제8항에 있어서,상기 영상 신호 신장 수단은, 상기 광량 설정 수단에 의해 설정된 광량에서의 감광량이 상기 감광 범위 내에 포함되는 경우에는, 상기 광량의 역수가 되는 신장량으로 상기 영상 신호를 신장하고, 상기 설정된 광량에서의 감광량이 상기 감광 범위 밖에 있는 경우에는, 상기 역수보다도 큰 신장량으로 상기 영상 신호를 신장하는투사형 표시 장치.
- 제8항 또는 제9항에 기재된 투사형 표시 장치의 구동 방법에 있어서,감광이 허용되는 감광 범위를 이용 정보에 기반해서 설정하고,단위 시간의 영상 신호에 기반해서 광원의 광량을 상기 범위 내에서 조절하는 것과 함께, 상기 영상 신호를 상기 광원의 감광량에 기반해서 신장하고, 이 신장된 영상 신호를 상기 광 변조 수단에 공급함으로써 영상을 형성하는투사형 표시 장치의 구동 방법.
