Claims (9)
- 다수의 데이터라인과 다수의 게이트라인이 교차되고 다수의 전기영동셀들을 포함한 전기영동 표시패널;현재 상태의 이미지와 다음 상태의 이미지를 순차적으로 저장하는 메모리; 및상기 현재 상태의 이미지를 읽어 리셋기간 동안 상기 전기영동셀들을 초기화하기 위한 리셋파형을 발생한 후에 데이터기입기간 동안 상기 다음 상태의 이미지를 읽어 상기 전기영동셀들에 기입될 데이터파형을 발생하여 상기 리셋파형과 상기 데이터파형을 상기 데이터라인들에 공급하는 데이터 발생회로를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기영동 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 데이터 발생회로는,상기 리셋기간과 상기 데이터기입기간 사이의 안정화기간 동안 미리 결정된 안정화파형을 발생하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기영동 표시장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 데이터 발생회로는,상기 리셋파형, 상기 안정화파형 및 상기 데이터파형을 디지털 데이터로 발 생하는 타이밍 콘트롤러; 및상기 타이밍 콘트롤러로부터의 디지털 데이터를 감마보상전압으로 변환하여 상기 데이터라인들에 공급하는 데이터 구동회로를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기영동 표시장치.
- 제 3 항에 있어서,상기 타이밍 콘트롤러는,상기 리셋기간, 상기 안정화기간 및 상기 데이터기입기간 각각에 필요한 프레임기간의 수를 저장하는 레지스터;프레임기간을 계수하여 프레임 수 정보를 출력하는 프레임 카운터;상기 메모리에 저장된 이미지의 데이터를 읽이 상기 리셋파형과 상기 데이터파형에 대응하는 상기 디지털 데이터를 발생하는 데이터 발생부를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기영동 표시장치.
- 제 3 항에 있어서,상기 데이터 발생부는,상기 현재 상태의 이미지를 읽어 상기 레지스터에 저장된 상기 리셋기간의 프레임기간 수 만큼 상기 리셋파형에 대응하는 디지털 리셋 데이터를 발생한 후에,상기 안정화파형에 대응하는 디지털 안정화 데이터를 상기 레지스터에 저장된 상기 안정화기간의 프레임기간 수 만큼 발생한 다음,상기 메모리에 저장된 상기 다음 상태의 이미지를 읽어 상기 레지스터에 저장된 상기 데이터기입기간의 프레임기간 수 만큼 상기 데이터파형에 대응하는 디지털 데이터를 발생하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기영동 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 전기영동셀은,양으로 대전된 백색입자와 음으로 대전된 흑색입자를 가지는 마이크로 캡슐을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기영동 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 전기영동셀은,음으로 대전된 백색입자와 양으로 대전된 흑색입자를 가지는 마이크로 캡슐을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기영동 표시장치.
- 다수의 데이터라인과 다수의 게이트라인이 교차되고 다수의 전기영동셀들을 포함한 전기영동 표시장치의 구동방법에 있어서,현재 상태의 이미지를 메모리에 저장하는 단계;상기 현재 상태의 이미지를 읽어 리셋기간 동안 상기 전기영동셀들을 초기화하기 위한 리셋파형을 발생하는 단계;다음 상태의 이미지를 상기 메모리에 저장하는 단계;데이터기입기간 동안 상기 다음 상태의 이미지를 읽어 상기 셀들에 기입될 데이터파형을 발생하는 단계; 및상기 리셋파형과 상기 데이터파형을 상기 데이터라인들에 공급하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기영동 표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 리셋기간과 상기 데이터기입기간 사이의 안정화기간 동안 미리 결정된 안정화파형을 발생하고 상기 안정화파형을 상기 안정화기간 동안 상기 데이터라인들에 공급하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기영동 표시장치의 구동방법.
