Abstract
Description
Claims (11)
- 각각의 내측(액정재료를 배치할 쪽)에 전극을 가지는 한쌍의 기판 및 상기 한쌍의 기판 사이에 배치된 액정재료를 적어도 포함하는 액정소자와, 상기 액정소자에 전하를 공급하기 위한 전하공급수단을 적어도 포함하는 액정 디바이스로서;상기 전하공급수단으로부터 상기 한쌍의 전극 사이에 공급할 전하량의 변화에 따라, 액정소자에서의 액정분자의 배향을 제어할 수 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 디바이스.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 액정소자가, 10~2V/㎛ 수준의 인가 전기장의 크기 및/또는 방향에 따른 광학축방위의 회전이 가능한 액정소자인 액정 디바이스.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 액정소자가, 1ms 수준의 고속응답이 가능한 액정재료인 액정 디바이스.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 액정소자가, 한쌍의 기판과, 상기 한쌍의 기판 사이에 배치된 액정재료를 적어도 포함하는 액정소자이며; 또한, 상기 액정소자 중의 초기분자배향이 액정재료에 대한 배향처리방향과 평행 또는 거의 평행한 방향을 가지고, 또한 액정재료 가 외부인가전압의 부재하에서 한쌍의 기판에 대하여 수직한 자발분극을 거의 나타내지 않는 액정소자인 액정 디바이스.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 4 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 한쌍의 전극 사이에 공급할 전하량의 변화가 정기장 강도의 시간미분값, 액정소자를 투과하는 누적광량, 각 화소에 대응하는 전압, 게이트 온 시간으로부터 선택되는 적어도 1종류의 파라메터에 근거하는 액정 디바이스.
- 제 5 항에 있어서,각 화소에 대응하는 전압이, 상기 각 화소에 각각 대응하는 각 TFT(박막 트랜지스터)의 전압인 액정 디바이스.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 6 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 전하공급수단이, 소스 전압에 맞추어 게이트 전압을 연동시키면서 일정한 전위차로 변화시키는 게이트 전압 공급수단과; 전회 화소에 보유한 전하에 의한 전위차인 드레인 전압에 맞추어 소스 전압을 인가할 수 있는 소스 전압 공급수단을 적어도 포함하는 액정 디바이스.
- 각각의 내측에 전극을 가지는 한쌍의 기판 및 상기 한쌍의 기판 사이에 배치된 액정재료를 적어도 포함하는 액정소자와, 상기 액정소자에 전하를 공급하기 위 한 전하공급수단을 포함하는 액정 디바이스의 구동방법으로서;상기 전하공급수단으로부터 상기 한쌍의 전극 사이에 공급할 전하량을 변화시킴으로써, 액정소자에서의 액정분자의 배향을 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 구동방법.
- 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 액정소자에 공급하는 전하량을 제어함으로써, 상기 액정소자에 인가되는 전기장 강도의 시간에 대한 전기장 강도의 시간미분값인 증가율 또는 감소율을 제어하는 구동방법.
- 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 액정소자에 인가하는 전기장 강도의 시간미분값을 제어함으로써, 상기 액정소자를 투과하는 광의 누적광량을 연속적으로 제어하여 계조표시하는 구동방법.
- 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 전하공급수단이 TFT를 포함하고, 또한 TFT의 각 전압 및/또는 게이트 온 시간을 제어함으로써 전기장 강도의 시간미분값을 제어하는 구동방법.
