Abstract
Description
도 1은 투명 층들 사이에 끼워지는 광 방출 소자들을 포함하는 본 발명에 따른 디스플레이 패널을 도시하며;
도 2는 본 발명에 따른 디스플레이 패널을 가로지르는 다양한 모양의 픽셀들 및 서브 픽셀들의 배열을 도시하며; 및
도 3은 본 발명에 따른 광 방출 소자들과 병렬로 배치되는 협대역 필터들을 도시한다.
Claims (17)
- 일 방향 디스플레이로서,
정면과 배면을 갖되, 상기 정면은 상기 정면에서 상기 디스플레이를 보는 디스플레이 관찰자에게 이미지를 디스플레이하도록 설계되고, 상기 배면은 상기 배면에서 상기 디스플레이를 보고 있는 디스플레이 관찰자에게 투시 능력을 제공하도록 설계되며, 상기 디스플레이는:
투명 재료로 제조되는 적어도 2개의 층;
상기 투명 재료 층들 사이에 끼워지고, 상기 디스플레이의 영역 전체에 걸쳐 그룹으로 장착되는 복수의 광 방출소자로서, 상기 광 방출 소자들의 각 그룹이 상기 디스플레이의 컬러 픽셀을 구성하며, 각 픽셀은 적어도 3개의 인접 또는 적층되는 적색, 녹색 및 청색 광 방출 소자로 구성하여 상기 광 방출 소자로부터 방출되는 적색, 녹색 및 청색 광의 조합에 의해 상기 픽셀의 요구되는 색을 제공하는, 복수의 광 방출 소자; 및
그룹으로 배치되는 복수의 협대역 필터로서, 각 그룹이 상기 디스플레이의 배면을 향하는 적색, 녹색, 및 청색 각각의 상기 협대역 범위 내의 상기 광들을 차단하기 위해 상기 디스플레이 픽셀들을 구성하는 상기 적색, 녹색, 및 청색 광 방출 소자들과 평행하게 장착되는 적어도 3개의 적색, 녹색 및 청색 협대역 필터로 구성되는, 복수의 협대역 필터를 포함하는, 디스플레이. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 광 방출 소자는 발광 다이오드(LED)인, 디스플레이. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 광 방출 소자는 유기 발광 다이오드(OLED)인, 디스플레이. - 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
상기 협대역 필터는 노치 필터인, 디스플레이. - 제5항에 있어서,
상기 노치 필터는 컬러 노치 편광기인, 디스플레이. - 제1항 내지 제5항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
상기 협대역 필터에 평행하게 상기 디스플레이의 영역 전체에 걸쳐 그룹으로 장착되는 복수의 추가 광 방출 소자를 더 구비하되, 상기 추가 광 방출 소자들의 각 그룹은 상기 디스플레이의 컬러 픽셀을 구성하고, 각 픽셀은 상기 적색, 녹색 및 청색 광의 조합에 의해 상기 픽셀의 요구되는 색을 제공하는 한편 상기 디스플레이 배면을 향하여 상기 협대역 필터를 통과하는 광의 색을 중화하도록 적어도 3개의 인접 또는 적층되는 적색, 녹색 및 청색 광 방출 소자로 구성하는, 디스플레이. - 제1항 내지 제6항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
픽셀 x 픽셀 단위로 배치되는 광섬유와 같은 광 가이드를 더 구비하며, 상기 광섬유의 말단부는 그들이 상기 디스플레이 전면에 인접하도록 배치되며, 상기 광섬유들의 기단부는 상기 광 방출 소자들에 동작 가능하게 연결되는, 디스플레이. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 층들은 편평한 형상인, 디스플레이. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 층들은 튜브형인, 디스플레이. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 층들은 입방 형인, 디스플레이. - 일 방향 디스플레이 픽셀 소자를 구동하는 방법으로서,
투명 재료로 제조되는 적어도 2개의 층을 제공하는 단계;
상기 투명 재료 층들 사이에 끼워지며, 상기 디스플레이의 상기 영역 전체에 걸쳐 그룹으로 장착되는 복수의 광 방출 소자를 제공하는 단계로서, 상기 광 방출 소자의 각 그룹은 상기 디스플레이의 컬러 픽셀을 구성하고, 각각의 픽셀은 적어도 3개의 인접 또는 적층되는 적색, 녹색 및 청색 광 방출 소자들로 구성하여 광 방출 소자로부터 방출되는 적색, 녹색 및 청색 광의 조합에 의해 상기 픽셀의 요구되는 색을 제공하는 단계;
그룹들로 배열되는 복수의 협대역 필터를 제공하는 단계로서, 각각의 그룹은 상기 디스플레이의 상기 배면을 향하는 각각의 적색, 녹색 및 청색 광의 상기 협대역 범위 내의 광을 차단하도록 상기 디스플레이 픽셀들을 구성하는 상기 적색, 녹색 및 청색 광 방출 소자들에 평행하게 장착되는 적어도 3개의 적색, 녹색 및 청색 협대역 필터로 구성하는 단계;
상기 일 방향 디스플레이에 의해 디스플레이될 이미지를 재생하도록 상기 컬러 픽셀을 활성/비활성화하기 위한 픽셀 구동 회로를 제공하는 단계; 및
상기 디스플레이 이미지의 재생을 제어하는 상기 회로를 상기 디스플레이의 영역 전체에 걸쳐 제공되는 모든 화소들이 더 높은 정의의 이미지를 재생하기 위한 방식으로 설정함으로써 또한 상기 디스플레이 이미지의 재생을 제어하는 상기 회로를 디스플레이 정의를 전이, 즉, 활성 중인 어레이 내의 각각 2개의 픽셀들 간의 하나 이상의 픽셀을 생략하여 더 낮은 정의의 이미지를 재생하기 위한 방식으로 설정함으로써 상기 디스플레이 이미지의 재구성을 위해 작동할 픽셀의 수를 조정하는 단계를 포함하는, 방법. - 제11항에 있어서,
상기 디스플레이 이미지의 재생을 제어하는 상기 회로를 상기 디스플레이 패널 전체에 걸쳐 각각 활성 중인 픽셀 중에서 일부 광 방출 소자를 활성/비활성화하는 방식으로 설정함으로써 특정 픽셀을 더 크게 또는 더 작게 만들도록 상기 픽셀의 크기 및 형상을 조정하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 방법. - 제11항에 있어서,
상기 협대역 필터에 평행하게 상기 디스플레이의 영역 전체에 걸쳐 그룹으로 장착되는 복수의 추가 광 방출 소자를 더 구비하되, 상기 추가 광 방출 소자들의 각 그룹은 상기 디스플레이의 컬러 픽셀을 구성하고, 각 픽셀은 적어도 3개의 인접 또는 적층되는 적색, 녹색 및 청색 광 방출 소자로 구성하여 상기 적색, 녹색 및 청색 광의 조합에 의해 상기 픽셀의 요구되는 색을 제공하는 한편 상기 디스플레이 배면을 향하여 상기 협대역 필터를 통과하는 광의 색을 중화하도록 하는 단계; 및
상기 신호의 크기를 상기 구동회로에 의해 계산하여 상기 신호를 상기 추가 광 방출 소자의 상기 전극 상에 인가하여 상기 복수의 추가 광 방출 소자와 관련하여 상기 복수의 원색 광 광 방출 소자로부터 방출되는 광을 낮에는 백색 또는 거의 백색으로, 저녁에는 회색 또는 거의 회색으로 만드는 단계를 더 포함하는, 방법. - 제11항 내지 제13항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
상기 광 방출 소자는 발광 다이오드(LED)인, 방법. - 제11항 내지 제13항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
