Claims (19)
- 입력 비디오 프레임들의 시퀀스에 대응하는 디지털 비디오 데이터를 인코딩하는 방법으로서, 상기 입력 비디오 프레임들은 출력 비디오 프레임들의 시퀀스로 인코딩되며, 상기 방법은,
제 1 인트라-프레임(intra-frame)을 생성하도록, 인트라-프레임 인코딩을 이용하여 제 1 인코더 인스턴스(5)에서 제 1 입력 비디오 프레임을 인코딩하는 단계(102);
제 1 디코딩된 프레임을 생성하도록, 상기 제 1 인트라-프레임을 디코딩하는 단계(103);
제 1 출력 비디오 프레임을 생성하도록, 제 2 인코더 인스턴스(9)에서 상기 제 1 디코딩된 프레임을 인코딩하는 단계(104)
를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 비디오 데이터를 인코딩하는 방법. - 제1항에 있어서,
디스플레이를 위해 이용되기 전에, 상기 인코딩된 제 1 인트라-프레임을 폐기하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 비디오 데이터를 인코딩하는 방법. - 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,
제 2 인트라-프레임을 생성하도록, 인트라-프레임 인코딩을 이용하여 상기 제 1 인코더 인스턴스(5)에서 제 2 입력 비디오 프레임을 인코딩하는 단계;
제 2 디코딩된 프레임을 생성하도록, 상기 제 2 인트라-프레임을 디코딩하는 단계; 및
제 2 출력 비디오 프레임을 생성하도록, 상기 제 2 인코더 인스턴스(9)에서 상기 제 2 디코딩된 프레임을 인코딩하는 단계를 더 포함하며,
상기 제 1 출력 비디오 프레임을 생성하도록 상기 제 1 디코딩된 프레임을 인코딩하는 것은, 상기 제 2 인트라-프레임을 생성하도록 상기 제 2 입력 비디오 프레임을 인코딩하는 것과 나란히(in tandem) 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 비디오 데이터를 인코딩하는 방법. - 제3항에 있어서,
디스플레이를 위해 이용되기 전에, 상기 인코딩된 제 2 인트라-프레임을 폐기하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 비디오 데이터를 인코딩하는 방법. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 제 1 인코더 인스턴스(5)는 JPEG 인코더인 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 비디오 데이터를 인코딩하는 방법. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 제 1 인코더 인스턴스(5)는 블록 기반 하이브리드 인코더(block-based hybrid encoder)인 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 비디오 데이터를 인코딩하는 방법. - 제6항에 있어서,
상기 제 1 인코더 인스턴스(5)는 상기 제 1 인트라-프레임을 디코딩하여, 인터-프레임 인코딩에 이용될 수 있는 제 1 기준 프레임 형태로 상기 제 1 디코딩된 프레임을 생성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 비디오 데이터를 인코딩하는 방법. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 제 1 디코딩된 프레임은 인트라-프레임 또는 인터-프레임 인코딩을 이용하여 상기 제 2 인코더 인스턴스(9)에서 인코딩되는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 비디오 데이터를 인코딩하는 방법. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 제 1 인코더 인스턴스(5)는 제 1 압축비를 이용하여 상기 제 1 비디오 입력 프레임을 인코딩하고, 상기 제 2 인코더 인스턴스(9)는 제 2 압축비를 이용하여 상기 제 1 디코딩된 프레임을 인코딩하며, 상기 제 2 압축비는 상기 제 1 압축비 보다 크거나 같은 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 비디오 데이터를 인코딩하는 방법. - 입력 비디오 프레임들의 시퀀스에 대응하는 비디오 데이터를 인코딩하는 디지털 비디오 인코더 시스템으로서, 상기 시스템(3)은,
인코딩된 프레임들을 생성하도록 인트라-프레임 인코딩을 이용하여 상기 입력 비디오 프레임들을 인코딩하는 제 1 인코더 인스턴스(5);
상기 제 1 인코더 인스턴스와 관련된 디코더 인스턴스(6), 상기 디코더 인스턴스(6)는 상기 인코딩된 프레임들을 디코딩하며;
상기 디코딩된 프레임들을 인코딩하는 제 2 인코더 인스턴스(9)
를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 비디오 인코더 시스템. - 제10항에 있어서,
상기 디코더 인스턴스(6)가 상기 인코딩된 프레임들을 디코딩하면 상기 제 1 인코더 인스턴스(5)는 상기 인코딩된 프레임들을 폐기하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 비디오 인코더 시스템. - 제10항 또는 제11항에 있어서,
상기 제 1 및 제 2 인코더 인스턴스들(5, 9)은 나란히(in tandem) 동작하도록 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 비디오 인코더 시스템. - 제10항에 있어서,
상기 제 1 인코더 인스턴스(5)는 JPEG 인코더인 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 비디오 인코더 시스템. - 제10항에 있어서,
상기 제 1 인코더 인스턴스(5)는 블록 기반의 하이브리드 인코더인 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 비디오 인코더 시스템. - 제14항에 있어서,
상기 디코더 인스턴스(6)는 인터-프레임 인코딩에 이용될 수 있는 기준 프레임들 형태로 상기 디코딩된 프레임들을 생성하도록, 상기 인트라-프레임들을 디코딩하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 비디오 인코더 시스템. - 제10항에 있어서,
상기 제 2 인코더 인스턴스(9)는 인트라-프레임 및 인터-프레임 인코딩을 이용하여 상기 디코딩된 프레임들을 인코딩할 수 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 비디오 인코더 시스템. - 제10항에 있어서,
상기 제 1 인코더 인스턴스(5)는 제 1 압축비를 이용하여 상기 비디오 입력 프레임들을 인코딩하고, 상기 제 2 인코더 인스턴스(9)는 제 2 압축비를 이용하여 상기 디코딩된 프레임들을 인코딩하며, 상기 제 2 압축비는 상기 제 1 압축비 보다 크거나 같은 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 비디오 인코더 시스템. - 제10항에 따른 디지털 비디오 인코더 시스템(3)을 포함하는 카메라.
- 제1항의 방법을 수행하도록 된 명령들을 구비한 컴퓨터 판독가능한 저장 매체를 포함하는 컴퓨터 프로그램 제품.
