Claims (14)
- 적어도 하나의 배터리 셀을 포함하는 배터리;
충전 및 방전 전류가 흐르는 대전류 경로상에 배치되는 충전 스위치 및 방전 스위치를 포함하는 스위치 부; 및
상기 배터리의 전압 및 전류를 모니터링하고, 상기 배터리의 전압에 기초하여 상기 배터리의 충전 및 방전을 제어하기 위해 상기 충전 스위치 및 상기 방전 스위치에 제1 구동 신호를 출력하는 배터리 관리부;
상기 배터리 관리부의 제어 신호에 따라 상기 충전 스위치를 구동하기 위한 제2 구동 신호를 출력하는 스위치 구동부;
를 포함하고,
상기 배터리 관리부는 상기 배터리의 열화 정도에 기초하여 충전 전류 한계량을 설정하고, 상기 배터리의 충전 전류의 크기가 상기 충전 전류 한계량 이하가 되도록 상기 스위치 구동부를 이용하여 상기 충전 스위치를 제어하는 배터리 팩. - 제1 항에 있어서,
상기 배터리 관리부는 상기 배터리가 열화될수록 상기 배터리의 충전 전류 한계량을 감소시키는 배터리 팩. - 제1 항에 있어서,
상기 배터리 관리부는 상기 배터리의 충전 전류의 크기에 따라 가변하는 듀티비를 갖는 펄스 폭 변조 신호를 상기 제어 신호로서 상기 스위치 구동 제어부에 출력하는 배터리 팩. - 제3 항에 있어서,
상기 배터리 관리부는 상기 배터리의 충전 전류의 크기가 상기 충전 전류 한계량을 초과하면 상기 펄스 폭 변조 신호의 듀티비를 감소시키고,
상기 배터리 관리부는 상기 배터리의 충전 전류의 크기가 상기 충전 전류 한계량보다 작으면 상기 펄스 폭 변조 신호의 듀티비를 증가시키는 배터리 팩. - 제3 항에 있어서,
상기 배터리 관리부는 상기 펄스 폭 변조 신호의 듀티비가 100%에 도달하면, 상기 충전 스위치를 턴 온 시키기 위한 턴 온 신호를 상기 제1 구동 신호로서 출력하고, 상기 스위치 구동부가 하이-임피던스(hi-Z) 상태의 상기 제2 구동 신호를 출력하도록 상기 스위치 구동부를 제어하는 배터리 팩. - 제3 항에 있어서,
상기 배터리 관리부는 상기 펄스 폭 변조 신호의 듀티비가 100% 미만인 경우, 하이-임피던스(hi-Z) 상태의 상기 제1 구동 신호를 출력하고, 상기 스위치 구동부가 상기 펄스 폭 변조 신호의 듀티비에 대응하는 듀티비를 갖는 상기 제2 구동 신호를 출력하도록 상기 스위치 구동부를 제어하는 배터리 팩. - 제1 항에 있어서,
상기 배터리 관리부는,
상기 배터리의 전압 및 전류를 감지하고, 상기 충전 스위치 및 상기 방전 스위치에 제1 구동 신호를 출력하는 아날로그 프론트 엔드; 및
상기 배터리의 전압 및 전류에 기초하여, 상기 아날로그 프론트 엔드 및 상기 스위치 구동부를 제어하는 마이크로 프로세서 유닛을 포함하는 배터리 팩. - 제1 항에 있어서,
상기 배터리 관리부는 상기 배터리가 열화되더라도 상기 배터리의 충전 속도(C-rate)가 기준 충전 속도를 초과하지 않도록 상기 배터리의 충전 전류 한계량을 설정하는 배터리 팩. - 제1 항에 있어서,
상기 배터리 관리부는 상기 배터리의 만충전량(배터리의 만충전량(FCC))에 기초하여 상기 배터리의 열화 정도를 결정하는 배터리 팩. - 제8 항에 있어서
상기 배터리의 충전 전류 한계량은 상기 배터리의 만충전량(배터리의 만충전량(FCC))에 비례하는 배터리 팩. - 제1 항에 있어서,
상기 배터리 관리부는 상기 배터리의 충방전 사이클 횟수에 기초하여 상기 열화 정도를 결정하는 배터리 팩. - 제1 항에 있어서,
상기 배터리의 온도를 감지하는 온도 센서를 포함하는 배터리 팩. - 제12 항에 있어서,
상기 배터리 관리부는 상기 배터리의 열화 정도 및 상기 배터리의 온도에 기초하여 상기 충전 전류 한계량을 설정하는 배터리 팩. - 제13 항에 있어서,
상기 배터리 관리부는 상기 배터리의 온도가 상온일 때 상기 충전 전류 한계량을 제1 기준값으로 설정하고, 상기 배터리의 온도가 제1 임계 온도와 제2 임계 온도 사이일 때 상기 충전 전류 한계량을 제2 기준값으로 설정하며,
상기 제2 기준값은 상기 배터리의 열화 정도에 기초하여 설정되는 상기 제1 기준값에 종속적으로 결정되는 배터리 팩.
