Claims (20)
- 하기 화학식 I의 화합물:
상기 식에서,
각각의 라디칼은, 서로 독립적으로 및 각각의 경우 동일하거나 상이하게 하기 의미를 갖는다:
P는 메타크릴레이트 기 또는 아크릴레이트 기를 나타내되, 기 P는 모두 동일한 의미를 갖고,
Sp는 단일 결합 또는 -(CH2)p1-, -O-(CH2)p1-, -O-CO-(CH2)p1, 또는 -CO-O-(CH2)p1을 나타내되, p1은 2, 3, 4, 5 또는 6이고, Sp가 -O-(CH2)p1-, -O-CO-(CH2)p1 또는 -CO-O-(CH2)p1인 경우, O 원자 또는 CO 기는 각각 벤젠 고리에 연결되고,
L11 및 L12는 F, Cl 또는 OR을 나타내고,
R은 임의적으로 불화된 1 내지 4개의 탄소 원자를 갖는 직쇄 또는 분지쇄 알킬을 나타내고,
L13 및 L14는 F, Cl, -CN, 또는 1 내지 25개의 탄소 원자를 갖는 직쇄, 분지쇄 또는 환형 알킬을 나타내되, 상기 알킬에서 하나 이상의 비인접 CH2- 기는 O 및/또는 S 원자가 서로 직접 연결되지 않도록 -O-, -S-, -CO-, -CO-O-, -O-CO- 또는 -O-CO-O-로 임의적으로 대체되고, 하나 이상의 H 원자는 각각 F 또는 Cl로 임의적으로 대체되고,
r1 및 r2는 0, 1, 2, 3 또는 4이되, r1 + r2는 2 이상이고,
r3 및 r4는 0, 1, 2, 3 또는 4이되, r1 + r3은 4 이하이고, r2 + r4는 4 이하이고,
상기 화합물은 F 또는 Cl인 기 L11 또는 L12를 하나 이상 함유하고, OR인 기 L11 또는 L12를 하나 이상 함유하되,
P, Sp, L11 및 L12가 상기 정의된 바와 같은 하기 화합물은 제외된다:
. - 제 2 항 내제 제 5 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
R이 CH3이고 L'이 F인 화합물. - 제 1 항 내지 제 6 항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 화학식 I의 중합가능한 화합물을 하나 이상 포함하는 액정 매질.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,
- 제 1 항 내지 제 6 항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 화학식 I의 중합가능한 화합물을 하나 이상 포함하는 중합가능한 성분 A), 및
- 하나 이상의 메소젠성 또는 액정 화합물을 포함하는 액정 성분 B)
를 포함하는 액정 매질. - 제 7 항 또는 제 8 항에 있어서,
하나 이상의 하기 화학식 CY 및/또는 PY의 화합물을 포함하는 액정 매질:
상기 식에서,
a는 1 또는 2를 나타내고,
b는 0 또는 1을 나타내고,
는 를 나타내고,
R1 및 R2는, 각각 서로 독립적으로, 1 내지 12개의 탄소 원자를 갖는 알킬을 나타내고, 이때 1개 또는 2개의 비인접 CH2 기는 또한 O 원자가 서로 직접 연결되지 않도록 -O-, -CH=CH-, -CO-, -O-CO- 또는 -CO-O-로 대체될 수 있고,
Zx는 -CH=CH-, -CH2O-, -OCH2-, -CF2O-, -OCF2-, -O-, -CH2-, -CH2CH2- 또는 단일 결합, 바람직하게는 단일 결합을 나타내고,
L1 내지 L4는, 각각 서로 독립적으로, F, Cl, OCF3, CF3, CH3, CH2F 또는 CHF2를 나타낸다. - 제 7 항 내지 제 9 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
하기 화학식 AN 및 AY로부터 선택되는 화합물을 하나 이상 포함하는 액정 매질:

RA2는 1 내지 12개의 탄소 원자를 갖는 알킬이고, 이때 1개 또는 2개의 비인접 CH2 기는 또한 O 원자가 서로 직접 연결되지 않도록 -O-, -CH=CH-, -CO-, -OCO- 또는 -COO-로 대체될 수 있고,
Zx는 -CH2CH2-, -CH=CH-, -CF2O-, -OCF2-, -CH2O-, -OCH2-, -CO-O-, -O-CO-, -C2F4-, -CF=CF-, -CH=CH-CH2O- 또는 단일 결합, 바람직하게는 단일 결합이고,
L1 내지 L4는, 각각 서로 독립적으로, H, F, Cl, OCF3, CF3, CH3, CH2F 또는 CHF2H, 바람직하게는 H, F 또는 Cl이고,

z는 0 또는 1이다. - 제 7 항 내지 제 10 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,

Zy는 -CH2CH2-, -CH=CH-, -CF2O-, -OCF2-, -CH2O-, -OCH2-, -COO-, -OCO-, -C2F4-, -CF=CF- 또는 단일 결합을 나타낸다. - 제 7 항 내지 제 11 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
화학식 I의 중합가능한 화합물이 중합되는 액정 매질. - 제 7 항 내지 제 11 항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 액정 매질의 제조 방법으로서,
하나 이상의 메소젠 또는 액정 화합물, 또는 제 8 항에 정의된 액정 성분 B)를 제 1 항 내지 제 6 항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 화학식 I의 화합물 하나 이상, 및 임의적으로 추가 액정 화합물 및/또는 첨가제와 혼합하는 단계를 포함하는, 제조 방법. - 제 1 항 내지 제 6 항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 화학식 I의 화합물 하나 이상 또는 제 7 항 내지 제 12 항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 액정 매질을 포함하는 액정 디스플레이.
- 제 14 항에 있어서,
PSA 디스플레이 또는 중합체 안정화된 SA-VA 디스플레이인 액정 디스플레이. - 제 15 항에 있어서,
PS-VA, PS-OCB, PS-IPS, PS-FFS, PS-UB-FFS, PS-포지-VA 또는 PS-TN 디스플 레이인 액정 디스플레이. - 제 15 항 또는 제 16 항에 있어서,
상기 디스플레이가,
하나 이상이 광 투과성인 2개의 기판,
각각의 상기 기판 상에 제공된 전극, 또는 상기 기판들 중 단지 하나에 제공된 2개의 전극, 및
상기 기판들 사이에 위치하고, 하나 이상의 중합가능한 화합물을 포함하는, 제 7 항 내지 제 12 항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 액정 매질의 층
을 포함하고,
이때 상기 중합가능한 화합물이 상기 디스플레이의 기판들 사이에서 중합되는 것을 특징으로 하는, 액정 디스플레이. - 제 17 항에 따른 액정 디스플레이의 제조 방법으로서,
하나 이상의 중합가능한 화합물을 포함하는 제 7 항 내지 제 12 항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 액정 매질을 상기 디스플레이의 기판들 사이에 제공하는 단계, 및
상기 중합가능한 화합물을 중합하는 단계
를 포함하는 방법. - 제 1 항 내지 제 6 항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 화학식 I의 화합물의 제조 방법으로서,
탈수제의 존재 하에, Pg가 OH를 나타내는 제 18 항에 따른 화합물을 P 기를 함유하는 대응 산, 산 유도체 또는 할로겐화된 화합물을 사용하여 에스터화는, 방법.
