Claims (8)
- 표시 장치의 표시면 상에 배치되는 광학 구조체이며,
고굴절률층과,
상기 고굴절률층에 적층되고, 또한 굴절률이 상기 고굴절률층보다도 낮은 저굴절률층과,
상기 고굴절률층의 상기 저굴절률층 측과는 반대인 측에 배치되는 표면재를 구비하고,
상기 고굴절률층과 상기 저굴절률층의 계면이 요철 형상을 이루고 있고,
상기 요철 형상에 있어서의 오목부 및 볼록부의 각각이, 상기 고굴절률층 및 상기 저굴절률층의 면 방향을 따라서 연장되는 평탄부를 갖고,
상기 오목부의 평탄부와 상기 볼록부의 평탄부 사이에 연장되는 상기 요철 형상의 서로 인접하는 2개의 측면이, 상기 오목부가 움푹 패인 방향 또는 상기 볼록부가 돌출되는 방향을 향하여 끝이 가는 형상을 형성하고 있고,
상기 저굴절률층은 상기 표시 장치의 표시면 측을 향하도록 배치되고,
상기 표면재는 상기 표시 장치의 표시면 측과는 반대인 측에 있어서의 최표면을 형성하고,
상기 표면재의 굴절률은, 1.40 이하인, 광학 구조체. - 제1항에 있어서, 상기 요철 형상의 측면은, 상기 저굴절률층 측으로 볼록해지는 곡면 또는 꺾임면으로 되어 있는, 광학 구조체.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 요철 형상의 측면이 상기 고굴절률층 및 상기 저굴절률층의 법선 방향과 이루는 최대 각도와 최소 각도의 차가, 3도 이상 60도 이하로 되어 있는, 광학 구조체.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 요철 형상의 오목부 및 볼록부의 1주기분의 길이에 대한 상기 평탄부의 합계 길이의 비율이, 0.50 이상 1.00 미만으로 되어 있는, 광학 구조체.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 요철 형상의 측면의 양단부점을 연결한 직선과, 상기 고굴절률층 및 상기 저굴절률층의 법선 방향에 의해 규정되는 상기 요철 형상의 측면의 평균 경사면 각도가, 9도 이상 18도 이하로 되어 있는, 광학 구조체.
- 제1항 내지 제5항 중 어느 한 항에 기재된 광학 구조체가 표시면에 배치된, 표시 장치.
- 제6항에 있어서, 상기 표시 장치는,
상기 표시면과, 상기 표시면에 대향하여 배치된 이면을 갖는 액정 패널과,
상기 액정 패널의 이면에 대면하여 배치된 면 광원 장치를 갖는, 표시 장치. - 제7항에 있어서, 상기 액정 패널은, 액정 분자에 대한 전압이 오프 또는 최솟값일 때에 상기 액정 분자가 상기 표시면의 법선 방향을 따라서 배향하여 상기 면 광원 장치로부터의 광이 차단되는 상태로 되고, 상기 액정 분자에 대한 전압을 서서히 증가시켜서 상기 액정 분자를 상기 표시면을 따르는 측에 점차 경사지게 함으로써, 상기 면 광원 장치로부터의 광의 투과율을 서서히 증가시키도록 구성된, VA형 액정 패널인, 표시 장치.
