Abstract

Description

액정 배열를 포함하는 복합재를 갖는 차량 창유리
본 발명은 청구항 1의 전제부의 특징을 갖는 차량 창유리(vehicle window pane)에 관한 것이다.
이러한 종류의 차량 창유리는 실제로 공지되어 있고 자동차의 이동가능하거나 고정된 지붕 요소일 수 있다. 차량 창유리는 일반적으로 유리로 만들어지고 지붕 요소의 외각(outer skin)을 형성하는 판형의 창유리 본체를 구비한다. 창유리 본체는 그 내부 사이드에서 기능층(functional layer)으로서, 전기적으로 절환될 수 있는 액정(liquid crystal) 배열, 및 차량 창유리의 반투명도를 정의하는 복합 재가 제공된다. 차량 창유리는 액정 배열의 절환 상태에 따라 대체로 반투명하거나 대체로 불투명하므로, 차양(shading) 배열을 형성한다.
또한, 전술한 종류의 차량 창유리 내에서 다른 기능층으로서 편광(polarizer)층이 사용되는 것이 알려져 있다. 편광층은 창유리의 가로 방향에서 액정 배열과 동일한 치수를 가진다. 나아가서, 복합재는 기능층들 사이의 연결과 창유리 본체에 대한 연결을 확립하는 중간 라미네이션(lamination)층들을 구비한다. 중간 라미네이션층들은 적어도 액정 배열을 가로 질러 연장하는 크기를 가진다.
복합재가 규정된 압력들과 온도들에 노출되는 라미네이션 공정 후, 전술한 차량 창유리를 제조하는 동안, 액정 셀의 열 팽창과 사용된 재료들의 불균일성은, 액정 셀 재료의 국부적 집중(concentration)에 기인하고 다크 스팟(dark spot)으로 명명되는, 액정 셀 내의 광학적 결함들을 초래할 수 있다. 또한, 이것들은 차량 창유리의 가시(visible) 영역 내에 형성되어 차량 창유리의 외관에 영향을 미친다.
본 발명의 목적은 차량 창유리의 가시 영역 내의 액정 셀 물질의 국부적 집중들의 형성의 위험이 최소화되는 전술한 종류의 차량 창유리를 제공하는 것이다.
본 발명에 따르면, 이러한 목적은 청구항 1의 특징을 갖는 차량 창유리에 의해 달성된다.
본 발명은, 차량의 주변을 향하는 외부 사이드와 이러한 외부 사이드으로부터 멀어지게 향하고 복합재가 연결되는 내부 사이드를 가진 판형 창유리 본체를 포함하는 차량 창유리를 제안한다. 여기서, 복합재는, 어느 하나가 다른 하나 위에 배치되고, 층들의 어느 하나가 2개의 필름들 및 2개의 필름들 사이에 배치된 액정 셀을 포함하는 액정 배열을 구비하고, 층들의 다른 하나가 편광층으로 되어 있는, 다수의 층들을 포함하는 층 구조를 구비한다. 층 구조의 적어도 하나의 층은 액정 배열의 면적보다 더 작은 면적을 가진 변위(displacement)층이므로, 액정 셀은 변위층에 의해 덮인 중앙부보다 더 두꺼운 에지부를 가진다.
에지부 내의 액정 셀 재료의 집중은 변위층에 의해 의도하는 방식으로 달성되고, 광학 결함들 또는 다크 스팟들은 바람직하게 가시 영역의 외부에 위치된 에지부로 이동될 수 있다. 이것은 액정 셀의 에지부 내에 액정 저장소(reservoir)가 형성되는 것을 의미한다. 이것은 복합재의 제조 동안, 액정 셀의 각각의 에지부들과 겹치는 빈 영역에 의해 변위층이 측면으로 제한된다는 사실에 의해 가능해진다. 액정 배열의 에지부 상에 가해지는 압력은, 중앙부 내의 압력보다 더 낮기 때문에 액정 셀의 재료가 에지부 내에 축적되고 두꺼워지게 한다.

본 발명의 대안적인 실시예에 따른 차량 창유리에서, 변위층은 부가층 특히, 부가 필름에 의해 형성된다. 부가층은 복합재 내의 상이한 장소들에 배치될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 부가층은 액정 배열 또는 편광층에 인접한다. 또한, 부가층은 액정 배열과 편광층 사이에, 또는 편광층이 창유리 본체로부터 떨어져 면하는 액정 배열의 사이드 상에 배치되는 경우, 판형 판유리 본체와 액정 배열 사이에 배치될 수 있다.
본 발명의 바람직한 실시예에 따른 차량 창유리에서, 부가층은 10㎛ 내지 500㎛의 두께를 갖는다. 이러한 두께는 에지부 내의 액정 셀의 농밀화(thickening)를 달성하기에 충분하다. 그러나, 동시에 차량 창유리의 총 두께는 크게 증가하지 않는다.

유사하게, 액정 셀의 에지부 내에 액정 셀 재료가 축적되게 하는 부가층은 아크릴레이트층, 열가소성 폴리우레탄층, 에폭시층, 실리콘층, 폴리에틸렌층, 또는 에틸렌-비닐아세테이트(EVA) 또는 폴리비닐부티랄(PVB)과 같은 가교 물질층 또는 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트(PET), 폴리카보네이트(PC) 또는 환상 올레핀 공중합체(COC)를 포함하는 투명 플라스틱 필름층으로 구성될 수 있다.
변위층에 의해 덮이지 않는 액정 배열의 에지부는 바람직하게 5mm 내지 40mm의 폭을 갖는다.
더욱이, 액정 배열은 층 구조의 테두리 에지를 한정하는 에지 실링(sealing)에 의해 환경 조건들로부터 보호될 수 있다. 에지 시링은 위에서 언급된 부가층과 접착층의 물질들과 동일한 물질일 수 있는 필름 구조로 이루어질 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 차량 창유리의 창유리 본체는 3-차원 곡률을 가질 수 있다. 예를 들어, 창유리 본체는 2개의 방향들 즉, 지붕 창유리의 경우, 차량의 횡 방향과 종 방향을 따르는 곡률들을 가질 수 있고, 이러한 곡률들은 각각 1,000mm와 10,000mm 사이, 바람직하게 2,000mm와 5,000mm 사이의 곡률 반경을 갖는다. 이것들은 굴곡 과정에서 변할 수 있으므로, 해당 방향으로 일정할 필요는 없다.
본 발명에 따른 차량 창유리의 액정 배열은 넓은 온도 범위에 걸쳐, 대략 1초의 짧은 절환 시간으로 작동될 수 있다. 부가적으로, 저전압은 액정 배열을 작동시키기에 충분할 수 있다. 교류 전압인 전압은 특히, 30V 미만일 수 있다. 교류 전압의 주파수는 예를 들어, 60Hz이지만, 액정들의 요구되는 정렬의 속도에 따라 더 높을 수도 있고, 최대 100 내지 120Hz이거나 그보다 더 낮을 수도 있다.
나아가서, 스위치를 끄면, 액정 배열은 가시 광선에 대해 1% 미만일 수 있는매우 낮은 투과율을 제공한다. 액정 배열의 색상은 예를 들어, 회색이지만, 염료들의 혼합에 의해 주문제작될 수 있다.

본 발명에 따른 차량 창유리가 제공될 수 있는 창유리 내부 본체는 창유리 본체와 동일한 방식으로 구성될 수 있고, 예를 들어 대략 1.5mm 내지 2.6mm의 두께를 가진 유리로 구성될 수 있다. 본 발명의 특정의 실시예에 따른 차량 창유리에서, 창유리 내부 본체는 유연성이 있으므로 판형 창유리 본체의 잠재적인 곡률에 적합할 수 있는 얇은 유리에 의해 형성된다. 화학적으로 프리-스트레스된(pre-stressed) 유리일 수 있는 얇은 유리는 예를 들어, 0.1mm 내지 1.5mm의 두께를 갖는다.
본 발명에 따른 차량 창유리의 편광층은, 바람직하게 스위치 오프될 때, 액정 셀의 편광 방향에 직각으로 향하는 편광 방향을 갖는다. 이 경우, 스위치-온 상태는 투과(transmission) 상태와 연관된다. 그러나, 편광층의 편광 방향은 또한 액정 셀이 스위치 오프될 때 액정 셀의 편광 방향과 평행할 수 있고, 이것은 전체 배열이 투과 상태에 있다는 것을 의미한다.

Claims (15)

  1. 차량의 주변을 향하는 외부 사이드 및 상기 외부 사이드로부터 멀어져 향하고 복합재(20)가 연결되는 내부 사이드를 가진 판형 창유리 본체(16)를 포함하는 차량 창유리로서,
    상기 복합재(20)는, 어느 하나가 다른 하나 위에 배치되고, 층들의 어느 하나가 2개의 필름들(32,34) 및 2개의 필름들(32,34) 사이에 배치된 액정 셀(36)을 포함하는 액정 배열(28)을 구비하고, 층들의 다른 하나가 편광층(30)으로 되어 있는, 다수의 층들을 포함하는 층 구조를 구비하고,
    상기 층 구조의 적어도 하나의 층은, 상기 액정 배열(28)의 면적보다 더 작은 면적을 가진 변위층(displacement layer)이고,
