Claims (14)
- 무기 또는 유기 바인더 매트릭스에 결합된 복수의 개별 연마 그레인(individual abrasive grain)으로 구성된 응집체형 연마 그레인(agglomerate abrasive grain)으로서,
상기 응집체형 연마 그레인의 총 중량을 기준으로 하여, 적어도 8 중량%의 바인더 매트릭스에 결합된 연마 그레인이 97 중량% 초과 비율의 알파-알루미나를 갖는 융합된 알루미나 기반 다결정 알루미나 연마 그레인이고, 상기 다결정 알루미나 연마 그레인은 또한 결정 크기가 20 ㎛ 내지 100 ㎛인 복수의 Al2O3 1차 결정으로 구성되는, 응집체형 연마 그레인. - 제1항에 있어서, 다결정 알루미나 연마 그레인 외에, 개별 콤팩트 모놀리식(monolithic) 연마 그레인이 바인더 매트릭스에 추가로 결합된, 응집체형 연마 그레인.
- 제2항에 있어서, 개별 콤팩트 모놀리식 연마 그레인의 평균 그레인 크기가 다결정 알루미나 연마 그레인의 최대 그레인 크기와 다결정 연마 그레인에 존재하는 1차 결정의 최소 결정 크기 사이에 있는, 응집체형 연마 그레인.
- 제2항 또는 제3항에 있어서, 바인더 매트릭스에 추가로 결합된 개별 콤팩트 모놀리식 연마 그레인이 바람직하게는 20 ㎛ 내지 100 ㎛의, 다결정 알루미나 연마 그레인에 존재하는 1차 결정의 평균 직경에 상응하는 평균 직경을 갖는, 응집체형 연마 그레인.
- 제2항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 추가의 개별 모놀리식 연마 그레인의 비율이 응집체형 연마 그레인의 총 중량을 기준으로 하여 5 중량% 내지 60 중량%인, 응집체형 연마 그레인.
- 제2항 내지 제5항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 추가의 개별 모놀리식 연마 그레인의 비율이 응집체형 연마 그레인의 총 중량을 기준으로 하여 10 중량% 내지 60 중량%, 및 더욱 바람직하게는 15 중량% 내지 55 중량%인, 응집체형 연마 그레인.
- 제1항 내지 제6항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 응집체형 연마 그레인이 5 부피% 내지 30 부피%의 기공 부피를 갖는 폐쇄 거대다공성(closed macroporosity)을 갖는, 응집체형 연마 그레인.
- 제1항 내지 제7항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 폐쇄 거대기공(macropore)의 평균 기공 직경이 10 ㎛ 내지 100 ㎛, 바람직하게는 15 ㎛ 내지 80 ㎛이고, 및 더욱 바람직하게는 20 ㎛ 내지 70 ㎛인, 응집체형 연마 그레인.
- 제7항 또는 제8항에 있어서, 폐쇄 거대기공의 최대 기공 직경이 대략 120 ㎛ 범위인, 응집체형 연마 그레인.
- 제1항 내지 제9항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 응집체형 연마 그레인이 1 부피% 내지 15 부피%의 개방 다공성을 갖는, 응집체형 연마 그레인.
- 제1항 내지 제10항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 응집체형 연마 그레인이 0.9 g/cm3 내지 1.8 g/cm3의 벌크 밀도(bulk density)를 갖는, 응집체형 연마 그레인.
- 제1항 내지 제11항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 바인더 매트릭스가 유기 바인더이고, 응집체형 연마 그레인의 개방 다공성이 3 부피% 미만인, 응집체형 연마 그레인.
- 제1항 내지 제12항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 바인더 매트릭스가 1:2 내지 1:20의 Al2O3 대 SiO2의 몰비로 알루미노실리케이트 및 알칼리 실리케이트를 포함하고, 500°미만의 온도에서 경화되는, 응집체형 연마 그레인.
- 제1항 내지 제13항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 응집체형 연마 그레인의 개방 다공성이 5 부피% 내지 15 부피%인, 응집체형 연마 그레인.
