- 하기 화학식 I을 갖는 헤테로렙틱 이리듐 착물을 포함하는 화합물:

상기 화학식에서,
R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 및 R6은 수소, 중수소, 시클로알킬, 중수소화 시클로알킬, 알킬 및 중수소화 알킬로 이루어진 군으로부터 독립적으로 선택되며;
R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 및 R6 중 하나 이상은 시클로알킬, 중수소화 시클로알킬, 알킬 또는 중수소화 알킬이며;
임의의 2개의 인접하는 R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 및 R6은 임의로 함께 결합되어 고리를 형성하며;
고리 A는 고리 B의 4- 또는 5-위치에 결합되며;
R 및 R'는 일치환, 이치환, 삼치환 또는 사치환을 나타내며, 수소, 중수소, 할라이드, 알킬, 시클로알킬, 헤테로알킬, 아릴알킬, 알콕시, 아릴옥시, 아미노, 실릴, 알케닐, 시클로알케닐, 헤테로알케닐, 알키닐, 아릴, 헤테로아릴, 아실, 카르보닐, 카르복실산, 에스테르, 니트릴, 이소니트릴, 술파닐, 술피닐, 술포닐, 포스피노 및 이의 조합으로 이루어진 군으로부터 독립적으로 선택된다. - 제1항에 있어서, R1은 알킬인 화합물.

- 제19항에 있어서, 유기층이 호스트를 더 포함하는 것인 제1의 디바이스.

호스트는 트리페닐렌 함유 벤조-융합된 티오펜 또는 벤조-융합된 푸란을 포함하며;
여기서 호스트에서의 임의의 치환기는 CnH2n+1, OCnH2n+1, OAr1, N(CnH2n+1)2, N(Ar1)(Ar2), CH=CH-CnH2n+1, C≡CHCnH2n+1, Ar1, Ar1-Ar2, CnH2n-Ar1로 이루어진 군으로부터 독립적으로 선택된 비융합 치환기이거나 또는 비치환이며;
