Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé pour améliorer la capacité de remplissage de tabac, par exemple des feuilles ou des côtes de tabac coupées ou des additifs du tabac, par traitement du matériau tabac présentant un taux d'humidité initial de 10 à 30% avec un gaz de traitement composé d'azote et/ou d'argon à des pressions de 400 à 1 000 bars, suivi d'une décompression continue puis d'un traitement thermique postérieur du matériau tabac ainsi obtenu. La densité de remplissage de la charge de tabac dans l'autoclave est supérieure à 0,2 kg/dm3.
