Abstract

This invention relates to the field of high gain antennas for wireless and mobile communication systems and devices as well as for radar systems. To achieve this result we opted for the design of an antenna using micro-ribbon antenna technology. printed on a dielectric substrate. The élémentrayonnant of this antenna is a square shaped conductor having a truncation aunveleau of two opposing vertices (figure 1). The antenna has three layers of metamaterials based on split ring resonator (SRR) cells with three conductor wires (Figure 2). These layers of metamaterials are designed such that the effective permittivity and permeability of these materials are negative for the operating frequency band of the proposed antenna. The antenna is powered by a microstrip line printed on the same dielectric substrate.
