Abstract

The present invention relates to novel methods of delivering recombinant adeno-associated virus (raav) particles to the central nervous system of a mammal (eg, human). In some aspects, the methods involve administering the raav particles containing heterologous nucleic acid to the striatum and inducing expression of the heterologous nucleic acid in at least the cerebral cortex and striatum of the mammal.
