Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé d'inspection automatique d'un cordon de soudure (24) déposé en plusieurs passes dans un chanfrein (18) formé entre deux pièces (20, 22) à assembler, comprenant les étapes suivantes : positionner au moins un capteur électromagnéto-acoustique d'émission d'ondes ultrasonores (2) d'un côté du chanfrein et au moins un capteur électromagnéto-acoustique de réception de signaux ultrasonores (2) d'un côté opposé du chanfrein, le capteur d'émission d'ondes ultrasonores étant configuré pour émettre des ondes surfaciques de rayleigh; au cours du dépôt d'une passe, déplacer de façon automatique les capteurs en suivant le déplacement des électrodes de soudage le long du chanfrein; activer les capteurs pendant leur déplacement pour permettre au capteur d'émission de générer et d'émettre des ondes de rayleigh en direction de la passe du cordon de soudure en cours de dépôt, le capteur de réception réceptionnant les signaux ultrasonores transmis et/ou réfléchis dans ladite passe; et réitérer l'opération pour l'ensemble de la passe du cordon de soudure.
