Abstract

<strong>The present invention generally relates to a new food additive based on a microalgae called spirulina, with the aim of preventing endemic fluorosis. This is a natural preventive solution, which can be applied to all ruminants kept on rangelands in areas with endemic fluorosis. Spirulina has been incorporated into a concentrated food. This additive has the advantage of being rich in biomolecules, which leads to an improvement in the effectiveness of reducing the absorption of fluoride and its derivatives by ruminants. Dental fluorosis as well as other fluoride poisoning in animals raised in endemic areas are therefore prevented.</strong><br />
