The invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and may be used for manufacturing pieces of structural steel, including the high-temperature one.Summary of the invention consists in that the electrolyte for steel dimensional electrochemical treatment consists of an aqueous solution of sodium chloride and sodium nitrate, at the same time it additionally contains a mixture of sodium nitrite and urotropin in the following component ratio, g/l:sodium chloride �50...200sodium nitrate�50...300sodium nitrite�2,5...20,0urotropin��2,5...20,0water��the rest.
