Abstract
The invention relates to the field of material testing, particularly for estimating and comparing the lubricating ability of different lubricants. The device for determining the lubricating ability of lubricants comprises a holder (1) for fixation of a lubricant probe (2), a loading device with an indentor (3) and a diamond pyramid. The device additionally contains a control unit (4) of the load to the indentor (3), a unit for monitoring (5) the pyramid depth sinking into the probe (2), a unit (6) of longitudinal and transversal step-by-step displacement of the holder (1) with the probe (2), a unit (7) for application and change of the lubricants, a calculation-regulation unit (8), functioning according to a preset program, recorded on an information medium, made with the possibility of subsequent automatic read-out and transformation of information into calculation and control signals.
