Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a en un procedimiento mejorado que incluye las etapas de hilar, enfriar rápidamente con agua y estirar un monofilamento termoplastico de substancial denier, en al menos primeras y segundas etapas de estirado, el monofilamento enfriado rápidamente con líquido se hace avanzar en la primera etapa de estirado a través de un evaporador o caldera de vapor, que contiene una atmósfera de vapor a alta temperatura y se hace avanzar en la segunda etapa de estirado a través de una zona tratada con un calentador radiante, la proporción de estirado total es cuando menos aproximadamente 5.5X, el monofilamento después del enfriamiento rápido con agua se pone en contacto con guías y superficies que incluyen rodillos de alimentación, y posteriormente entra al evaporador; la mejora comprende: proporcionar agua en la superficie del monofilamento antes de ponerlo en contacto con las guías y superficies, en una cantidad de cuando menos 10 por ciento en peso con base en el peso seco del monofilamento.
