Abstract

Un procedimiento de etapas múltiples detecta e identifica radiación, explosivos y materiales especiales dentro de un contenedor de transportación; el procedimiento utiliza detectores de radiación configurados como nodos en una red distribuida; el procedimiento recolecta datos desde los nodos; los datos de radiación recolectados son asociados con el contenedor y su contenido; los datos de radiación recolectados son ajustados en forma dinámica de acuerdo con los datos de radiación antecedentes que cambian en forma dinámica, tales como los relacionados con agua, tierra, aire, suelo y otras estructuras; el procedimiento compara los datos de radiación recolectados y ajustados a imágenes espectrales que representan isótopos para identificar uno o más de los isótopos presentes; los isótopos identificados que corresponden a materiales posibles que éstos representan; los materiales posibles son comparados con el manifiesto del contendor para confirmar la identidad de los materiales contenidos en el contenedor o para detectar y/o identificar los materiales no autorizados en el contenedor; un dispositivo de pulso de neutrón podría ser utilizado para identificar materiales protegidos, explosivos y otros tipos de materiales.
