Abstract

La separación de partículas hidrofóbicas de una mezcla de partículas en un fluido se realiza al proporcionar un lecho fluidizado (18) como un mecanismo de contacto relativamente no turbulento en una celda de flotación que incorpora una cámara de asentamiento (30) ubicada inmediatamente arriba del lecho fluidizado. Las partículas hidrofóbicas unidas a burbujas en el lecho fluidizado (18) y elevadas a la interfaz (19) con la cámara de asentamiento (30) donde partículas no hidrofóbicas (22) fluyen sobre el reborde (20) de una depuradora interna y se remueven como desechos en (21). Las partículas hidrofóbicas unidas a burbujas flotantes hacia arriba en la cámara de asentamiento relativamente estable (30) donde la ganga no deseada puede caer nuevamente a la interfaz (19). Las burbujas forman capa de espuma en la superficie superior de la cámara de asentamiento, y fluyen sobre el borde de la depuradora (32) llevando las partículas hidrofóbicas. Una operación del aparato se mantiene estable al re-cilcular el fluido desde la cámara de asentamiento (30) por medio de una tubería (40) y una bomba (41) para mezclar con nueva alimentación que entra en el conducto (2).
