Abstract
Un sistema de refrigeración por compresión de vapor incluye un compresor (1) arreglado para hacer recircular refrigerante a través de un condensador (2), un dispositivo de expansión (4) y un evaporador (5). Para lograr una descongelación rápida termodinámicamente eficiente del evaporador, en un recipiente de descongelación (6) se almacena refrigerante caliente del condensador, antes de hacerlo pasar a través del dispositivo de expansión (4). En una fase de descongelación, un arreglo de válvulas (7-10) forma un circuito cerrado de descongelación que conecta el evaporador (5) al recipiente de descongelación (6) mediante una válvula de descongelación (10) para permitir que pase fluido caliente desde el recipiente de descongelación hacia el evaporador y fluya refrigerante líquido en el evaporador hacia el recipiente de descongelación (6) mediante la válvula de drenaje (9). En una fase de pre-descongelación, el arreglo de válvulas cierra la entrada de fluido al evaporador (5) y el compresor opera para evacuar parcialmente el evaporador antes que el evaporador se conecte al recipiente de descongelación, de modo que se presente la inundación instantánea del evaporador con vapor caliente. Se puede incluir un medio de cambio de fase (11) para almacenar calor de la salida del condensador y regresarlo al evaporador durante la descongelación. Se puede suministrar calor adicional al líquido de descongelación para incrementar adicionalmente la velocidad de descongelación.
