Abstract
La presente invención se relaciona con una herramienta del fondo de la perforación para determinar laterales en una pared de barreno o en un entubado de barreno, que comprende un alojamiento de herramienta que se extiende a lo largo de un eje longitudinal y que tiene una circunferencia perpendicular al eje longitudinal y adaptado para descenderse dentro de un pozo, y una pluralidad de transceptores sónicos, cada transceptor sónico transmite señales sónicas desde el alojamiento y recibe señales sónicas reflejadas de la pared del barreno o del entubado del barreno en un segmento angular predefinido, en donde la pluralidad de transceptores sónicos se disponen a lo largo de la circunferencia del alojamiento de herramienta con una distancia mutua y son capaces de transmitir señales sónicas radialmente fuera del alojamiento de herramienta en todo un ángulo central de 360 grados hacia la pared del barreno o entubado del barreno y en donde, durante el uso, un transceptor sónico, durante un tiempo de pulso, transmite una señal sónica en el segmento angular predefinido de ese transmisor sónico, y en donde un transceptor sónico, durante un tiempo de eco subsiguiente, recibe una señal sónica reflejada de la pared del barreno o entubado del barreno, y en donde en ausencia de la señal sónica reflejada recibida, durante el tiempo de eco subsiguiente, indica un lateral. Adicionalmente, la invención se relaciona con un sistema del fondo de la perforación y un método para determinar una posición de un lateral.
