Abstract

Una composición para soldadura o soldadura fuerte de aluminio comprende silicio (Si) y magnesio (Mg) junto con aluminio en una aleación adecuada para usarse en soldadura y soldadura fuerte. El contenido de Si puede variar entre aproximadamente 4.7 y 10.9% en peso, y el contenido de Mg puede variar entre aproximadamente 0.20% en peso y 0.50% en peso. La aleación es muy adecuada para operaciones en las cuales poca o ninguna dilución del metal de base afecte el contenido de Si y/o Mg del metal de relleno. El contenido de Si promueve la fluidez y evita concentraciones de estrés y agrietamiento. El contenido de Mg proporciona resistencia incrementada. Las uniones resultantes pueden tener una resistencia al menos igual a aquella del metal de base con poca o ninguna dilución (por ejemplo, extracción de Mg). Las uniones pueden ser tanto tratadas con calor como añejadas artificialmente o añejadas naturalmente.
