Abstract
Se proporciona un método para producir un aceite biorrenovable soplado y extraído. El método puede incluir las etapas de (a) calentar un aceite biorrenovable hasta al menos 90 °C; (b) exponer una corriente que contiene oxígeno al aceite caliente para producir un aceite soplado que tiene una viscosidad de al menos 40 mm2/s (40 cSt) a 40 °C; (c) añadir un catalizador metálico básico al aceite soplado; y (d) extraer el aceite soplado de la etapa (c) hasta que el aceite extraído tenga un índice de acidez de aproximadamente 1 mg KOH/g a aproximadamente 20 mg KOH/g; en donde el aceite extraído de la etapa (d) tiene un punto de inflamación de al menos 220 °C.
