Abstract
Un método y dispositivo para la detección de hueso en la carne identifica fragmentos mayores de aproximadamente 1 mm usando imágenes ópticas espectrales y ultrasonido. La imagen espectral puede detectar materia extraña próxima a la superficie, y el ultrasonido puede detectar material dentro de la muestra. La muestra es irradiada por la luz y se mide la luz reflejada o la luz Raman dispersada. La muestra es irradiada de manera similar por ultrasonido y las ondas sonoras reflejadas o transmitidas dan un conjunto de puntos de datos de amplitud, que incluyen retardo temporal. Estos puntos de datos se procesan entonces mediante métodos estadísticos para derivar un conjunto de vectores en el espacio n-dimensional, que son comparados con un conjunto de datos calibrados de vectores derivados que tienen distintos loci de identificación para cada tipo de superficie, que son indicativos de la presencia o ausencia de defectos.
