Abstract
En ciertas modalidades, se añade calentamiento inductivo a un proceso de trabajo de metal, tal como un proceso de soldadura, por una cabeza de calentamiento por inducción. La cabeza de calentamiento por inducción puede estar adaptada específicamente para este propósito, y puede incluir una o más bobinas para dirigir y colocar la energía inductiva, estructuras de protección, y así sucesivamente. La productividad de un procedimiento de soldadura puede mejorarse mediante la aplicación de calor desde la cabeza de calentamiento por inducción. El calentamiento es además del calor procedente de un arco de soldadura, y puede facilitar la aplicación de materiales de electrodo de alambre de soldadura en ranuras y huecos estrechos, así como hacer los procesos más susceptibles al uso de ciertas composiciones de alambre de soldadura, gases de protección, materiales de fundente, y así sucesivamente. Además, la distorsión y las tensiones se reducen por la aplicación de la energía de calentamiento por inducción además de la fuente de arco de soldadura.
