Abstract
Se describen técnicas para tratar metales exponiendo los metales a soluciones reactivas para reducir la temperatura del metal y modificar una superficie del metal a través de una reacción química, como la eliminación de material o la adición de material. Las técnicas descritas pueden aumentar ventajosamente la velocidad a la que puede reducirse la temperatura del metal en comparación con las técnicas de enfriamiento convencionales que implican agua pura, aumentar las velocidades de fabricación de metal y reducir la complejidad general de un proceso de fabricación de metal. Las técnicas descritas también pueden ampliar ventajosamente la gama de tratamientos de superficie disponibles, permitir procesos de tratamiento de superficie más rápidos y reducir o eliminar el uso de productos químicos peligrosos durante un proceso de tratamiento de superficie.
